Groton edges past Vermillion to remain undefeated

Groton won game number two at the State B American Legion Baseball Tournament with a 7-6 win over Vermillion in a game that had several lead changes.

• Groton was the home team so Vermillion started off the top of the first inning. Vermillion's score came off of a Collin Bertram walk. He later scored

when Chayce Meierkort hit a single to give Vermillion a 1-0 lead.
• Kalen Kjellsen is walked in the bottom of the first. He stole second, advance to third on a grounder by Matt Thorson and scored on a Dalton Locke single. Groton left the bases loaded.
• A double play helped Groton get two players out and the third was a force out as the game remained tied.
