• There was a changing of the guard at Monday's annual duel meetings of the Groton School Board. Each year the board splits the July meeting to close out the last school year and start the new one.
• The board said good-bye to board member Joy Voss and welcomed new member Grant Rix to the board. Dorene Nelson stepped down as the board president and Steve Smith was elected to the position. Kelly Kjelden was re-elected as the board vice president. The "ad hoc" committees will remain the same with Rix replacing Voss on the personnel, policy and curriculum committee.
• The board voted to keep the meeting schedule the same as it has been, meeting on the second and fourth Monday of each month with the exception of only meeting on the second Monday during May, July, August and December. The board also voted to keep the salaries for board members at zero.
