• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- A Rapid City police officer who shot and killed a suspect has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
• State Attorney General Marty Jackley says a probe by the Division of Criminal Investigation concluded that Officer Jerrell Lewellen was justified in shooting 35-year-old Harold Murphy on June 4.
• Authorities concluded that Lewellen shot Murphy four times as Murphy fired a gun while scuffling with another officer. Murphy died at the scene. The incident began as a traffic stop.
• The investigation report says Murphy had illegal drugs in his system and in his possession, along with $7,410 in cash. He had previous convictions for assault, weapon and drunken driving crimes, and an active warrant for assault and driving with a revoked license.

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A video of a stranger buying diapers for a cash-strapped mother in a Sioux Falls store has become a big hit on Facebook.
• The video shot by Jason Yoshino as he waited in the checkout line Sunday night has drawn more than 4,000 likes and hundreds of comments, and been shared more than 1,000 times.
• Yoshino captured the moment when Carol Flynn, 73, a retired March of Dimes state director, bought three packages of diapers for Katie Kanefke when the store clerk declined to match a competing store's lower price.
• "Me and my wife were stunned," Yoshino told the Argus Leader newspaper. "You hear about those things, but you don't see them in real life."
• Flynn said she didn't shell out $120 for the diapers to receive attention -- she just wanted to help out.
• "You can't take it with you," she said of the money. "I just think we should do things like that."
• Kanefke said Flynn's generosity brought her to tears.
• "I was shocked. I just kept saying 'thank you, God bless you,'" she told KELO-TV. "I couldn't believe someone I didn't know would pay for something like that.
• "I started walking out in the parking lot and it just hit me. I started crying," she said.
