• Gary Spencer, 64, Eden Prairie, Minn, and formerly of Groton, Aberdeen and Rapid City, died suddenly on June 18. Gary was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Survived by wife, Joy; son Paul (Jennifer); daughter, Katherine; grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan and Zachary; mother, Virginia; sister, Kristine Ferrington (Ken); 2 nieces, 1 nephew, cousins, aunts uncles and many friends. Gary graduated from Groton High School in 1969. He received a degree in electrical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1973. He recently retired after 40 years in the IT field.
• A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 16 at Wooddale Church, 6630 Shady Oak Rd. Eden Prairie with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials preferred to We Can Ride Inc., local A.R.C. or Wooddale Church Missions.
