• According to Fern Elofson, Donor Recruitment Representative at United Blood Services, "Hecla had a fantastic turnout on June 6th. Out of 26 people who volunteered to donate, 25 were able to give.  Three people gave blood on the automated 2RBC machine which collects two units of red blood cells during the donation, so a total of 28 products were collected."
•  From beginning to end, the drive was very well organized.  Shirley Tisher coordinated the drive.  Space to hold the drive was provided by the St. John's Lutheran Church. Donations will help meet the blood needs of many patients in 93 area hospitals served by United Blood Services Dakotas.
