SD State Fair concert tickets on sale Monday

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- People interested in the South Dakota State Fair Grandstand performances can begin purchasing tickets at 9 a.m. Monday.
• Tickets are sold at the ticket office, online and by phone. Tickets with reserved seating cost $115 and the standing package is $105. They cover two nights of Championship Bull Riding and three concerts.
• The line-up ranges from country to classic rock music and includes Alabama, the Josh Abbot Band and Boston. The concerts will extend from Friday through Sunday.
• The fair, themed "What Does The Fair Say?" runs from Aug. 28 through Sept. 1.

Senator seeking nominees for adoption recognition

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- U.S. Sen. Tim Johnson says he is accepting nominations for the Angels in Adoption program.
• Angels in Adoption was established in 1999 by the Congressional Coalition of Adoption Institute to raise awareness about the importance of adoption.
• Johnson is the grandfather of two adopted children.
• The South Dakota Democrat each year recognizes South Dakotans who have made a difference in the lives of children in need of a family.
• Nearly 1,500 children are in the foster care system in South Dakota. About 75 children in the state age out of the foster care system each year before they are adopted.
• The deadline for nominations is July 11.

New SD tourist stop shows 'Declaration' signing

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Rapid City's newest tourism attraction opens Sunday.
• Founding Fathers Black Hills says it houses the world's only life-size sculpture of the painting "Declaration of Independence" inside a reproduction of the historic Philadelphia hall.
• Visitors can see 47 original sculptures and listen to a presentation about the American Revolution leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
