An extremely moist and unstable airmass will surge north into eastern South Dakota today. Thunderstorms will develop this morning over southern South Dakota and surge northeast today. Severe Thunderstorms are likely, with large hail and strong damaging winds possible. A tornado cannot be ruled out with any thunderstorm as conditions will be favorable for tornado formation, especially along and east of the James River Valley.
