• "To be able to get them in and out of the state is important," Weaver said of the guest conductors. "Pierre air service is not what I would call exceptional, at times."
• The change would cut Pierre, Watertown and Brookings out of the All-State Band rotation. Pierre and Watertown are served by regional air carriers and Brookings has no air service. Weaver said Aberdeen, Rapid City and Sioux Falls would still be eligible to host the event.

Superintendents seek more input on activity association decisions
