KDLT-TV mug to appear on NBC late night show

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A coffee mug with the call letters of a Sioux Falls television station will be featured on NBC's show "Late Night with Seth Meyers."
• The KDLT-TV coffee mug will appear on Meyers' desk Wednesday.
• The host each night features a mug from a different NBC affiliate station.
• The show airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. CT. The guests on Wednesday will include comedian John Oliver, actress Natasha Lyonne and musical guest Paolo Nutini.
• Meyers debuted as host of "Late Night With Seth Meyers" in February, taking over the slot of Jimmy Fallon, who moved on to "The Tonight Show."
• Before that Meyers had been on "SNL" since 2001 and served as the show's head writer since 2006.

Man gets prison, must pay $357K for tax evasion

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A Sioux Falls businessman has been sentenced to 11 months in prison and must pay more than $357,000 in restitution for tax evasion.
• The U.S. Attorney's Office says 46-year-old Jared Adrian earlier pleaded guilty to one count of willful failure to collect or pay over tax for his business, Jared Adrian Sod.
• Prosecutors say that between 2006 and 2010, he didn't pay employment taxes by referring to his workers as "independent contractors" or "contract laborers."

SD residents urged to verify contractors' license

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Sioux Falls homeowners are being urged to verify that the contractors they intend to hire for repairs associated with the recent hail storm are actually licensed.
• Ron Bell is the city's chief building officer. He says homeowners should verify that the contractor has current liability insurance and a compliance bond.
• Bell adds that building permits and inspections are also required for some repair work such as the installation of new shingles.
• A storm on Thursday pelted the metro area with pea- to golf ball-size hail damaging hundreds of vehicles and homes.
