Howard in training for professional wrestling

• Cameron Howard is taking the plunge into professional wrestling.
• He attended a two day camp a few weeks ago and in his words, "nailed a tryout." He resumed traning on Monday, June 2, at Troy, Mo, at the Harley Race Wrestling Academy.
• Cameron said he admits, "It's totally out of the box, but definitely not impossible. All I have to do is work hard." His training camp will run three to four months. He said that if he learns well and progresses well, he will work on Harley Race's Show which is a World League Wrestling that travels around Missouri and nearby states.
• Cameron said that he has a love for professional wrestling. "Its the realization that it's possible for me to be successful."
• Cameron owns Howie's Training Studio in Groton and in his absence, Tom and Patti Woods and a friend of Cameron's will be taking came of the place. He said that he will be returning periodically to take care of the major business aspects.

Junior High Band receives Superior Ratings at Contest

• The Groton Middle School students attended the contest Saturday, May 3.  It was held at the Webster high school and involved students from area schools.  The Jr. High band was scored by three different judges and given the ratings of I, I, I+. 
• All students performed a solo and were given a rating of I, II, III or IV.  Groton had 66 solo entries and 59 received superior ratings.  The directors and students would like to thank the parents and community members that attended contest and supported our program.  Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
• Contest results are as follows: Those receiving an I rating are AnneMarie Smith on trumpet, Hattie Weismantel on Bass Clarinet, Miranda Hanson on Flute, Cassie Townsend on Flute, Madi Wright on Flute, and Gia Gengerke on Flute. Receiving an I- were Micah Poor on Trumpet and Hannah Lewandowski on Flute.

Fey on U of M Dean's List

• Stephanie Fey, Groton, was named to the Fall Semester Dean's List of the University of Mary, Bismarck.
• To qualify for the honor, traditional undergraduate students must earn a 3.50 or better grade point average while carrying at least 12 credit hours.
