Nnea Gweneth Freudenthal was born on September 18,

1926 to John and Florence (Hartline) Freudenthal in Buchanan, Michigan.  Her mother passed away when Nnea was just a few weeks old.  When she was two years old, her father brought her back to SD to live with her grandparents, JD and Metta Freudenthal.  She attended country school and then Amherst SD High School where she graduated in 1944.  After that, she attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen.  She was united in marriage with Dale Stanley on September 30, 1947.  This marriage led them to farm for 55 years in rural Claremont where they raised 4 children.  Dale and Nnea were married for over 63 years before Dale's passing in January 2011.
Nnea enjoyed playing all card games, particularly bridge.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Claremont all her life where she held several offices.  She was also active in the Claremont Legion Auxiliary and Claremont Craft Club.  One of her favorite pastimes in life was bowling, which took her on many road trips.  She holds the record for the highest women's game at Palm Bowl Lanes in Claremont.  She was always very interested in the lives and activities of her grandchildren.  She moved to Rosewood Court in 2011 and then to Golden Living Center in 2013.  In addition to participating in activities at the Living Center, she was an avid fan of Twins baseball and regularly listened to the games.
Celebrating her life through memories are four children:  Rick (Fern) Stanley, Sioux Falls SD; Holly (Jim) Beeninga, Mesa AZ; Randy (Sue) Stanley of Groton; Renee (Chris) Rink, Plainfield IL; and 12 grandchildren: Craig (Jane) Stanley; Brett (Lisa) Stanley; Scott (Laurie) Stanley; Carrie (Jon) Santiago; Valerie (Damien) Hubbard; Jason Beeninga; Erica (Cody) Garvey; Chelsey (Jordan) Kline; Brandon Stanley; Carly (David) Rowe; Amanda Rink; and Caitlin Rink.  Nnea is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In addition to Dale, she is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Loren and Melvin.  Casketbearers will be her grandchildren.
