1934: Watertown recorded a high temperature of 102 degrees, which is the earliest yearly date when Watertown reached 100 degrees.

1965: Low temperatures were mostly for the mid to upper 20s across a broad area. The low temperatures set back some crops and caused light damage to others. Some low temperatures around the area include; 26 degrees in Andover; 27 in Ipswich; 28 in Britton, Leola and McLaughlin; and 29 in Clear Lake, Eureka, Gettysburg, and Pierre.

1963: A tropical cyclone struck Bangladesh killing 11,500 people.

1987: Up to 13 inches of rain fell across parts of Oklahoma, causing severe flash flooding. Thousands of people had to be rescued from their homes.
