Severe weather possible for parts of eastern and southern U.S. on Friday

• The NWS Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a risk of severe weather Friday afternoon and evening for two distinct areas of the U.S.: one for parts of eastern New Mexico into western Texas, and another in eastern parts of North & South Carolina. Damaging winds and large hail are the primary threats.
