SD GOP form bulk of voters registered for primary

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- Only South Dakota voters who have already registered can vote in the June 3 primary.
• Voter registration has ended, 15 days before the election as required by state law.
• The most recent figures show nearly 511,000 people registered to vote in the state. Forty six percent registered as Republicans and 34 percent as Democrats. Independents make up 16 percent.
• Registered voters can cast their ballots early with absentee voting by mail or at county courthouses. Officials have sent out over 4,500 ballots and received nearly 3,300 back.
• In the June primary candidates for governor and U.S. Senate will face challengers from within their party, as will contenders for state House and Senate.
• Registered voters must bring photo identification to the polls or sign a personal identification affidavit.

Mobile app gives South Dakota voting information

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota voters can now download a free mobile app to check voting information that's personalized based on where they live.
• It's available for Apple and Android devices and can be downloaded from the Secretary of State's website.
• Users can see where they vote, what's on their ballot and other voter registration and election information.
• The user may find all of their data by keying in specific information to the encrypted site or just put in an address that gives more general information about polling location, district and precinct.

E. coli found in water at Blue Mounds State Park

• LUVERNE, Minn. (AP) -- With Memorial Day weekend coming up, officials at Blue Mounds State Park in southwest Minnesota are dealing with the discovery of E. coli in the water.
