• Nuisance properties were discussed. A lot of pictures taken by the police officers of nuisance property around Groton were reviewed by the council. Deputy Finance Officer April Abeln gave a report on the Northeast Finance Officer's Group which Mike Olson was a guest speaker. Olson is the code enforcer for the City of Aberdeen. On June 2 at 6 p.m., City Finance Officer Anita Lowary, Mayor Scott Hanlon and City Attorney Drew Johnson will meet with Mike Olson prior to the Groton City Council meeting to discuss options.
• The delinquent utility customer list was discussed. The first round of shut-offs will be done if the bills are not paid on time.

• The Fliehs plat was approved by the city council. Mary Fliehs divided her one big property into two smaller lots and then sold the east one to Robert Wegner who is building a new house on that lot.
• After an executive session, the council accepted the resignation of Nick Weber as pee wee/midget coach and groundskeeper.

April Abeln gave a report on the Northeast Finance Officers Group meeting held recently. Abeln filled in for Finance Officer Anita Lowary who is home and is not feeling well. Lowary has had to have IVs and oxygen given to her as she has double phenomena.
