1930: The entire town of Frost, TX was destroyed and 22 people were killed by an F4 tornado. The tornado killed a total of 41 people along its 35 mile path. Seventy-five minutes later another F4 tornado struck Texas and took 34 lives. One home suffered nine fatalities and the bodies were scattered for 300 yards near Kenedy.

1973: An F5 tornado in McLennan County, TX carried a pickup truck for half a mile.


1981: A spring blizzard dumped 19 inches of snow on Calgary, Alberta, setting a record May snowfall total for the area.

1984: On Sheridan Lake in South Dakota 2 men where struck by lightning and killed while they were standing on their boat.

2012: A tornado damaged nearly 900 houses in Tsukuba, Japan, northeast of Tokyo. A 14-year-old boy was the storm's only fatality.
