• Groton Area High School has nominated a sophomore to attend the Governor's Leadership in Vermillion at USD in May, 2014.   The event includes a lunch and features a presentation by the Honorable Dennis Daugaard, South Dakota's Governor.  Each student will receive distinction honoring his or her exceptional attributes and extraordinary service.   The Groton Area student nominated in 2014 is Marlee Jones.
• Marlee is the daughter of Jim and Mendy Jones of Groton.
