Journalist, foundation leader Jack Marsh retires

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Longtime journalist and Freedom Forum executive Jack Marsh has retired.
• He most recently was president of the Al Neuharth Media Center at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.
• Marsh turned 65 in April and will continue to live with his family in Sioux Falls. He plans to do consulting and volunteer.
• Marsh worked as a reporter, editor and publisher at six Gannett newspapers, including six years as executive editor of the Argus Leader in Sioux Falls.
• He left Gannett in 1998 and joined the Freedom Forum, a non-partisan foundation based at the Newseum in Washington.

SD governor's mansion open to tours in June

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard's office has announced that tours of the governor's mansion will resume in June.
• This is the fourth season of tours and begins June 4. They will take place every Wednesday in June, July and August at 1 and 2 p.m.
• Volunteers, including First Lady Linda Daugaard, will lead tours of up to 30 people.
• She says the mansion belongs to all South Dakotans and she invites all, "to enjoy this special home."
• She says some special items will be on display for the state's 125 anniversary.
• Tickets for the tour are free, but must be collected in advance from the Pierre Chamber of Commerce.

Mayer honored as SD prosecutor of the year

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- Deputy Attorney General Robert Mayer has been honored as South Dakota's prosecutor of the year.
• The South Dakota State's Attorneys Association has given the award annually since 2002.
• Attorney General Marty Jackley says Mayer has been prosecuting crime for more than 30 years throughout the state and has worked tirelessly to seek justice and ad
