on 3-dimensional geometry. They will draw and find the lengths of different 3-D shapes, such as prisms, pyramids, cylinders, cones, and spheres. They will also find the surface area and volumes of these shapes.

• Algebra II - Mr. Kjellsen
• The Algebra II classes just completed a chapter involving radicals and exponents. They are simplifying expressions and solving equations involving radicals. Their next chapter begins the Trigonometry portion of the class. Trigonometry, by definition, means triangle measure. They will learn various trigonometric ratios they can use to find different sides and angles of triangles. They will also graph trigonometric equations.
• Trig/Precalc - Mr. Kjellsen
• The Trig/Precalc class just completed the unit on integral calculus. This study of calculus involves integration and finding anti-derivatives. They found areas of different 2-dimensional shapes and volumes of 3-dimensional shapes using integrations. Their next chapter involves statistics and probability. They will find different permutations and combinations of sets. They will use this to find the probabilities of different experiments.

• Discrete Math - Mr. Kjellsen
• The Discrete Math class is currently working on a Trigonometry unit. They will use various methods to prove different identities. They will also graph these identities and find exact values of angles using them.

• Seventh Grade English - Mrs. Kurtz
• Another year is coming to an end, and the seventh and eighth graders have been busy!  The seventh graders just completed a unit on punctuation.  This may seem very simple, but there are many rules regarding punctuation.  The next chapter that the students are going to cover is on spelling, which goes along nicely with the journal writing unit. The seventh graders will finish the year by completing their last speech.  They will be required to gather information on their favorite vacation/tourist attraction and use the persuasive mode for presenting.
• Eighth Grade English - Mrs. Kurtz
• Like the seventh graders, the eighth graders are finishing the Smarter Balanced Test.  It is the first year that the testing has been administered on the computers, and it will be nice to have them back in the classroom on our regular schedule.  We are going to be ending the semester discussing common errors and subject-verb agreement.  It has been a fun year and before you know it, we will be enjoying the warm summer sun!
