BOR schools is extensive and will offer some really great opportunities to our students through online learning.
• Spring is a very busy time for our students, teachers, coaches, and advisors.  Students have so many opportunities to showcase their talents.  Many of our students are working with younger students through coaching and tutoring, dedicating their time and effort.  They cannot be applauded enough; it means so much to those they help.  We are lucky to have so many positive true leaders in our school.
• The teachers and I are continuing with the SD Teacher Effectiveness Pilot which gives way to an entirely new teacher evaluation system built on discussion, collaboration, and professional growth.  We have had some great discussion on student-centric classrooms, project-based learning, and classroom management techniques.
• Keep a copy of the school calendar handy; we have so much going on and would love to have you attend in support.  As always, if you have any question, concerns, or thoughts, please don't hesitate to stop in!

• This class is just finishing a collection of stories called nonfiction.  The eighth graders will be taking their Smarter Balance test over English and Reading from April 23 to 25. Please make sure your children are especially getting proper sleep and nutrition during that week.  After testing, we will begin a new collection in our Literature book called poetry.  Then we will read a few fiction stories to finish out the school year.
• 8th grade Health - Mrs. Seibel
• During this quarter we have been learning out about reproductive health.  The students have learned about the structure and functions of both the male and female reproductive systems, pregnancy, physical/emotional changes of puberty, and responsibilities during adolescents.  To finish out the school year, we will cover safety, nutrition, and consumer health.
