Traffic Signal Removal On Highway 14 In Miller

• MILLER, S.D. - The South Dakota Department of Transportation will be removing the traffic signals at the intersection of Highway 14 and 5th Street in Miller during the week of May 5-9, weather permitting.
• The elementary school in Miller has been relocated and the amount of traffic at this intersection no longer meets federal guidelines and will be removed.
• The department will be removing the traffic signal heads at the intersection and installing stop signs on 5th Street. Highway 14 will not have any traffic control restrictions.
• Motorists will see short duration lane closures in each direction while the signal heads are being removed.
• The traffic signal poles and controller cabinet will be removed later this summer as part of a South Dakota Department of Transportation project on Highway14.
• Drivers using the intersection are urged to pay attention to the new traffic control.
