Group rallies against parent alienation

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A couple dozen people rallied in Sioux Falls Friday night to support mothers and fathers who aren't allowed to see their children.
• The group gathered in protest of parent alienation, a situation that often arises after divorces. They say it's best for children to be able to see both parents.
• Gov. Dennis Daugaard signed a bill in March designed to give children more time with divorced parents.
• The policy does not establish a presumption of equal parenting, and judges will still have the final say in assigning custody.
• South Dakota Shared Parenting has said the bill helps but it doesn't go far enough.

Central US bracing for possible severe weather

• OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A section of the Midwest stretching from Texas to South Dakota is at risk for large hail, strong wind gusts and tornadoes Saturday afternoon and evening.
• The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., says isolated to scattered severe storms are expected to develop across the central and southern Plains Saturday afternoon and continue into the overnight hours.
• The main threat will be large hail and damaging wind gusts. The strongest area for storm potential is along a dryline in northern Texas and southwestern Oklahoma
• On Sunday, an outbreak of severe storms is possible across parts of the central U.S. Large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes are possible.
• The greatest risk for tornadoes on Sunday will be in Arkansas as well as parts of Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.

SD Democrats expect largest fundraiser to sell out

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Democratic Party expects tickets to sell out for McGovern Day, its largest annual fundraiser.
• Executive director Zach Crago expects to fill all 720 seats in the Sioux Falls hall on Saturday.
• The event honors retiring U.S. Sen. Tim Johnson. Johnson has also served in
