A strong low pressure system will begin to develop over Wyoming today. Expect windy conditions by afternoon, with cool temperatures in the northeast and milder readings in the south. A surge of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will impact the area tonight. This will produce a round of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after midnight. Some of the storms could become strong to severe. The NWS Storm Prediction Center has placed portions South Dakota and Minnesota in a Slight Risk for severe weather, with the main threat being large hail. Please stay tuned for later updates on this potential severe weather.
