SD lottery offers losing tickets a second chance

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Lottery has announced a second chance game for players with losing scratch-off tickets.
• The program, called Play it Again, will launch next Wednesday. Members of the Lottery Players Club can enter non-winning tickets in an online drawing.
• Lottery executive director Norm Lingle says other states have similar games and gamers have asked for it in South Dakota. Lingle says second chance opportunities extend the length and value of games.
• The first game in the program offers a $10,000 award. The winner will be chosen from buyers of $2 scratch tickets available next Wednesday.
• A winner of the Play it Again grand prize will be chosen in December. Other drawings will continue in the meantime.
• Participants must first join the Players Club on the lottery website.

CAMP teams to showcase projects Saturday

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Teams from the from the Center of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing and Production will showcase their projects Saturday at an Earth Day celebration at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
• Vehicles on display will include the Supermileage vehicle, which has run 668 miles on single gallon of fuel; the Alternative Fuel Vehicle, a zero emissions, electric snowmobile for transportation in emissions sensitive testing areas in Greenland; and the Human-Powered Vehicle.
• Students will also be on hand to answer questions, and local organizations and businesses will have booths to sell merchandise, demonstrate their eco-friendliness and talk about ways to positively impact the environment.
• The event is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Main Street Square in Rapid City.
• Other highlights include the Black Hills Raptor Center's bird performances.
