• Friends and family of Schein said the death sentence was justice.
• Marge Anderson, Schein's friend, said the jury's decision should make the public feel safer. She also said she hopes people will remember Schein for the woman she was -- not as a woman who was brutally murdered.
• "She was a contributor to society, she had so many friends, she was a role model to her family, she was just a great gal and I hope everybody will remember her that way," Anderson said.

Minot State looks for new coach after Hoffner exit

• MINOT, N.D. (AP) -- Minot State says the school is disappointed that football coach Todd Hoffner is returning to his old job in Minnesota.
• Hoffner said Tuesday he will return to his coaching job at Minnesota State, Mankato after an arbitrator ruled he was wrongfully terminated.
• Hoffner was hired in January as head coach at Minot State, and says he will be "forever grateful" to the North Dakota school.
• Minot State athletic director Rick Hedberg said in a statement that the school wished Hoffner the best and hoped there was closure for him and his family. Hedberg says the school will move forward quickly to find a replacement.
• Minnesota State fired Hoffner last May after he had been accused -- then cleared -- of having pornographic images of his children on a work-issued cellphone.

FEC report: Pressler raised less than $10K

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Tuesday marks the deadline for South Dakota's U.S. Senate candidates to file their quarterly campaign reports with the Federal Election Commission.
• So far, just one of the seven candidates has shared his totals with The Associated Press.
• The FEC report for former U.S. Sen. Larry Pressler shows the independent candidate took in $9,580 from individual contributors during the first three months of 2014. He also loaned himself nearly $30,000.
