Strong cold front will bring severe weather threat to East Coast as unseasonably cold temperatures settle in to much of the U.S.
• A strong cold front will continue marching east bringing the potential for severe weather from the Southeast to the Mid-Atlantic on Tuesday. Behind the front, unseasonably cold temperatures will continue settling into the Plains and Midwest where Freeze Warnings are in place. The cold temperatures will then settle into the Ohio Valley and eastern U.S. through Wednesday morning.

• Today: Breezy. Partly sunny. Highs in the mid 40s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon.
• Tonight: Not as cold. Cloudy. Light rain...possibly mixed with snow and sleet after midnight. Snow and sleet accumulation up to 1 inch. Lows around 30. East winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.
• Wednesday: Breezy...cloudy. Light snow in the morning...then a chance of light snow...possibly mixed with rain in the afternoon. Snow accumulation up to 1 inch. Highs in the mid 30s. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph.
