Groton Band earns superior rating
• The Groton Area High School Band participated in the Region IV Large Group Music Contest on March 26th. The event was held at Aberdeen Central's Theatre this year, a change from the regular venue of the Johnson Fine Arts Center. NSU's production of Les Miserables prevented music contest from being held at the JFAC.
• The band, under the direction of Reid Johnson, performed two pieces for a panel of three judges, all of whom are retired band directors. The band played "To Challenge the Sky and Heaven's Above" by Robert W. Smith and "Prelude and Fugue in B-Flat Major" by J.S. Bach.
