SDSU women lose to UTEP in semifinals of WNIT

• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- The season has come to an end for the South Dakota State University women's basketball team -- one win away from the championship game of the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
• The University of Texas at El Paso beat SDSU 66-63 in the semifinals on Wednesday night in Texas to advance to Saturday's championship game against Rutgers, which downed South Florida in the other semifinal.
• SDSU had a chance to tie at the end, but Steph Paluch's 3-point try from the top of the key bounced off the front rim.
• SDSU was the first Summit League team to make it to the semifinals of the WNIT.

Eastern SD in for heavy snow and gusty winds

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Another spring snow storm has eastern South Dakota in its sights.
• The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the region from Thursday afternoon into Friday morning. Forecasters say 4-10 inches of snow are possible, with the heaviest amounts along and east of Interstate 29.
• A winter weather advisory is posted for the James River Valley, with 1-4 inches of snow expected.
• Winds gusting to 35 mph are expected to blow the snow around and reduce visibilities in some areas to less than half a mile.
• It will be the second storm this week. A system that passed through the state late Sunday into early Tuesday dumped several inches of snow in western and northeastern South Dakota.

Review recommends redesign of leadership programs

• MADISON, S.D. (AP) -- A two-year review by a statewide workgroup has recommended redesign of education leadership programs that prepare principals to work in South Dakota K-12 schools.
