• Johnson stole the ball from Blake Bartscher as he worked toward a potential game-tying basket with 5 seconds left. Johnson made one free throw with .6 seconds left.
• Johnson finished with 19 points for the Black Panthers (19-6). Carter Dytkstra had 23 points and six rebounds. Kole Heller added 11 points.
• Bartscher finished with a game-high 25 points for the Rustlers (21-4). He was 8-for-20 from the floor and had three 3-pointers.
• Camden Myers had 18 points and nine rebounds.

James Valley Christian reaches state B title game

• ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) -- James Valley Christian beat Potter County 72-55 Friday to earn a berth in its first title game at the South Dakota Class B boys basketball tournament.
• Nathan Wedel led the way for the Vikings (24-1) by scoring 24 points and grabbing 17 rebounds. He was 7-for-18 from the field and 9-for-11 from the free throw line.
• Alex Waldner and Andrew Ulvestad added 17 points each. Ulvestad also had eight rebounds and six assists.
• James Valley Christian shot 55 percent from the field.
• Caleb Meinke led Potter County (22-3) with four 3-pointers and 19 points. Chayce Hall had 10 points and four assists.

Langford Area wins in state B 5 OT marathon

• ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) -- Bo Fries scored six of his 18 points in the fifth overtime as Langford Area outlasted White River 62-54 in a consolation game at the South Dakota Class B boys basketball tournament.
• Langford Area (22-3) scored the first 10 points of the fifth overtime and outscored the Tigers 11-3.
• The game was tied at 39 at the end of regulation. The teams then took turns missing shots or turning the ball over at the end of the next four overtimes. Neither team scored in the third overtime period, and each scored just two in the fourth.
• Drew Planteen scored 19 points, Fries added 18 points and Zach Punt had 15 for the Lions.
• Justin Folkerts and Tavis Burbank each scored 14 for White River (19-6). Tre Iyotte added 12.
