Tea Area survives in 2 OT at state A

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Pine Ridge forced overtime on Thursday and went on to beat Tea Area 70-69 in double overtime at the South Dakota Class A boys basketball tournament.
• Jordan Fechner's free throws with 18 seconds left proved to be the game-winners after giving the Titans (16-8) a 70-66 lead. Fechner had 13 points.
• The Thorpes (20-3) got within 70-69 but Jacob Dreamer's long 3-pointer as time ran out missed the mark.
• Jeff LeBeau had 20 points, Jacob Brown 15 and Dreamer 13 for Pine Ridge.
• Tarin Smallfield had 30 points and 14 rebounds for the Titans. Gunnar Ensz had 12 points.
• Ki-Jana Grey Grass' layup with 10 seconds left in regulation tied it at 54-54 and Tea Area turned the ball over as time ran out.

Platte-Geddes rallies to win at state B

• ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) -- Platte-Geddes' Coby Johnson scored 28 points as the Black Panthers beat Langford Area 58-50 Thursday at the South Dakota Class B boys basketball tournament.
• Johnson's three-point play as time ran out at the end of the third quarter gave Platte-Geddes (18-6) its first lead of the game at 34-33. Langford never led again.
• Johnson was 9-for-15 and hauled in 12 rebounds. Carter Dykstra had 12 points.
• The Panthers shot 58 percent.
• Langford (21-3) got 19 points from Bo Fries and 13 points and six rebounds from Drew Planteen.
• The Lions shot 41 percent.

SF Lincoln knocks off top seed at state AA

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- Kaleb Johnson scored 27 points and Sioux Falls Lincoln rallied in the fourth quarter and overtime to beat top-seeded Huron 62-57 Thursday at the South Dakota Class AA boys basketball tournament.
• The Patriots (12-12) outscored Huron 22-11 in the fourth quarter and 13-8 in the extra frame. Tate Lindsay's three-point play with 1:36 left in OT was the winning move as it gave Lincoln a 58-55 lead.
