Faulkton voters approve tax freeze opt out

• FAULKTON, S.D. (AP) -- Voters in the northeastern South Dakota town of Faulkton have approved an opt out of the state property tax freeze.
• School officials say 60 percent of voters approved the move in Tuesday's election. The opt out will generate an estimated $450,000 annually for five years for the school district.
• The election drew 401 voters.
