Accumulating Snow Possible on Tuesday

• A strong low pressure system will track across the northern plains Monday night and Tuesday. Precipitation will begin as rain Monday night, then transition over to snow on Tuesday as cooler air moves in.
• There is the potential for significant snow accumulation across eastern South Dakota early Tuesday, with lower amounts for central and western counties. There is still a lot of uncertainty over the track and intensity of this system and how much snow can be expected.
• Right now, a winter storm watch is in effect for Marshall, Day and other counties south and east.
