Search called off for missing man in western SD

• SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) -- Authorities have called off the search for a missing Spearfish man.
• Police Lt. Boyd Dean says searchers are confident that they have adequately covered the 5-square-mile area known as Lookout Mountain, and there will be no more search missions for 26-year-old Robert Johnson unless more evidence materializes.
• Johnson has not been seen since the night of March 7. Hikers found some of his belongings on Lookout Mountain, prompting the search involving about two dozen people.
• Authorities say Johnson might have been dealing with mental health or substance abuse problems. No foul play is suspected in his disappearance.

SD governor signs 45 bills, repeals some laws

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard has signed 45 bills into law.
• One bill he signed Friday repeals outdated policies on the sale of petroleum products. Other new laws will require the daily recitation of the pledge of allegiance in public schools and appoint a task force to study child sexual abuse.
• Another addition to statute makes the fourth Saturday in July the "Day of the American Cowboy."
• Daugaard says the nature of government is to add laws, but more isn't always better. The state repealed 378 unneeded rules between the 2012 and 2013 legislative sessions. Daugaard's office says the governor already signed 21 bills this session to repeal existing laws.
• Daugaard says it's important to get rid of the "clutter" in state government.

SF Washington reaches state AA title game

• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- Sioux Falls Washington held Sturgis to seven points in the second half and coasted into the championship game at the South Dakota Class AA girls basketball tournament with a 55-28 win over the Scoopers.
• The Warriors (22-2) will try to win their fifth state title and first since 2010.
• Kelsey Knecht had 14 points and Sydney Koel added 13 for Washington, which
