Warner cruises into state B title game

• HURON, S.D. (AP) -- Defending state champion Warner moved back to the title game at the South Dakota Class B girls basketball tournament Friday with a 50-31 win over top-seeded Sully Buttes.
• Miranda Ristau had 16 points and five rebounds for the Monarchs (23-2), who are trying to become the first team to win back-to-back state basketball and volleyball tournaments.
• Ashley Rozell added 13 points and five rebounds.
• Warner shot 57 percent and held Sully Buttes (22-2) to just 23 percent. Remi Wientjes led the Chargers with nine points. Sully Buttes was 1-for-14 from 3-point range.

Mount Vernon-Plankinton wins in rout at state A

• SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) -- Megan Bultsma had 14 points and six rebounds as Mount Vernon-Plankinton beat Webster Area 52-29 in a consolation game Friday at the South Dakota Class A girls basketball tournament.
• Bultsma made 6 of 10 shots from the floor. As a team, the Titans (19-6) shot 45 percent from the field and made 6 of 11 shots from 3-point range. Becca Glanzer had 12 points and seven rebounds.
• The Titans took a 26-7 lead at the half.
• Webster (14-9) struggled from the field. The Bearcats shot 22 percent and missed all 10 of their 3-point shots.
• Breamma Bullert led the Bearcats in scoring with 5.

Fast start carries SF Roosevelt at state AA

• BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) -- Sioux Falls Roosevelt got off to a fast start and went on to beat Rapid City Stevens 74-63 Friday in the consolation round game at the South Dakota Class AA girls basketball tournament.
• The Rough Riders (14-11) scored 30 points in the first quarter to take an 11-point lead. They nursed the lead throughout the game thanks to a 31-point effort by Paige Mriden.
• Mriden was 8-for-14 from the floor with five 3-pointers and made 10 of 12 free throws. Tagyn Larson had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Nicole Hatcher had 14 points and 11 boards.
• Jennie Scharn had 21 points for the Raiders (14-11), who were 10-for-22 on 3-
