Sioux Falls man claims $65,629 lottery jackpot

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A Sioux Falls man has claimed a $65,629 lottery jackpot.
• South Dakota lottery officials say Kevin Webster won the prize in the Dakota Cash game's March 5 drawing and claimed the money this week. He says he has no definite plans for what to do with the money.
• The Munchies store where Webster bought his ticket is getting a $3,281 bonus for the sale.
• Dakota Cash is played only in South Dakota. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in about 325,000. The jackpot currently sits at $20,000.

SD Legislature putting final touches on bills

• PIERRE, S.D. (AP) -- The South Dakota Legislature is nearing the end of the main run of this year's session.
• Lawmakers will spend the next three days working out differences between versions of bills passed by the House and Senate.
• The Joint Appropriations Committee plans to put the finishing touches on the state budget so the Legislature can pass the spending measure by Friday, the final day in the session's main run.
• Lawmakers will return to the Capitol on March 31 to consider any vetoes issued by Gov. Dennis Daugaard.

SD man gets 15 years in prison in sex abuse case

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- A southern South Dakota man accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old minor has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
• The U.S. Attorney in Sioux Falls says the sentence against 27-year-old John Joseph Menard also includes 10 years of supervised release.
• The Mission man in December pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree burglary and sexual abuse of a minor.
• Authorities say Menard had sex with a 13-year-old minor between Feb. 12 and Feb. 18, 2009. They say Menard also entered a house on Nov. 5, 2012, got into the bed of a 7-year-old child and attempted to have sex with the child.
