• The Groton Area High School chapter of National Honor Society will be holding an induction ceremony for new members on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the GHS conference room in the new addition and will be open to all parents, grandparents, and friends of the members and inductees.
• The new members of NHS were selected from a field of eligible students by a ten-member committee. Eligibility is based on a 3.0 grade point and then the students are evaluated further on the basis of their completed application. This evaluation considers each student's accomplishments in the areas of academics, character, leadership, and service.
• The current members of the Groton Area Gold Key Chapter of the NHS are Halle Dohman, Reilly Ell, Joellen Gonsoir, Cheyenne Schaller, and Camille Sippel.  The students who will be inducted this year are seniors Nicole Koehler, daughter of Rick and Sherry Koehler, and Mason Madsen, son of Tony and Brenda Madsen, and juniors Gabriel Dohman, son of David and Tammy Dohman, Kathleen Groeblinghoff, daughter of Matt and Joni Groeblinghoff, Taylor Gustafson, daughter of John and Beth Gustafson, Breanna Marzahn, daughter of Wade and Renee Marzahn, Kaitlin O'Neill, daughter of Steve O'Neill and Robin O'Neill, Luke Smith, son of Steven and Carol Smith, Lucas Sternhagen, son of Craig and Jodi Sternhagen, Haley Unzen, daughter of Jake and Tiffany Unzen, and Kasey Waage, daughter of Jay and Jonna Waage.
