South Dakotans Heading South for Spring Break

• Warmer climates are popular Spring Break choices for many South Dakotans this year, according to AAA South Dakota.
• An informal survey this week of AAA travel agents and auto travel counselors revealed these top Spring Break destinations:
• The Orlando area of Florida, including Universal Orlando, Walt Disney World and SeaWorld
• Mexico, including Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Riviera Maya
• "It looks like a lot of us will be following the sun over the next two weeks," said Marilyn Buskohl, spokeswoman for AAA Travel. "That's not surprising given the rough winter we've had. And it's not too late to find some good deals for Spring Break. Visit sd.aaa.com/Travel."
•  Spring Break begins March 10 for most schools in South Dakota.
• For those not able to travel far this year, AAA says to remember there is a lot to do, see and discover in South Dakota. Go to www.travelsd.com for ideas.
• Although gasoline prices have been rising recently, today's statewide average in South Dakota for a gallon of self-serve regular - $3.49 - is still 15 cents below the price one year ago.
