• Jr. High Band-Deb Jensen
•   The band performed their pep band selections at a basketball game in January.  We are now working to improve our sight reading skill and will begin preparation for the Spring Concert.  It will be held Thursday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gym.  Performing groups will be the Sixth Grade, Jr. and Sr. High bands and choirs.
•  Students will start to prepare solos and band selections for their contest which will be held in Webster on Saturday, May 3.  The band will be performing followed by student solo performances.  Everyone is invited to attend this contest.  Please let me know as soon as possible if your child needs to be scheduled at a specific time.
•  As always, thank you for your continued support and encouragement you give your child to practice and perform up to their level of ability.

• Sixth Grade Band-Deb Jensen
•  We are advancing in our method books each day.  We will soon begin preparing for our Spring Concert on Thursday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gym.  Each rehearsal is spent on concert selections as well as etudes in our Essential Elements band series. 
•  The focus with this group is to improve each students note, rhythm and articulation performance.  Each student is given weekly lessons and with good daily practice habits they should advance to a junior high level.  Please encourage daily practice.
•  Students will be performing solos at the contest which will be held at Webster on Saturday, May 3.  Everyone is invited to attend this contest.  Please let me know as soon as possible if your child needs to be scheduled at a specific time. 

• Fifth Grade Band-Deb Jensen
•  This energetic group of musicians has been learning about each instrument in the band.  Those interested in percussion are asked to take a coordination test on either Monday, Feb. 24 or Tuesday, Feb. 25 in the high school band room.  It will begin at 3:30 and they should be done by 4:00 or earlier.  Taylors music will be in the high school band room on Monday, March 3 as a come and go format from 3:30-5:00. When the students receive their instruments please encourage daily practice habits.  As always, thank you for your support of instrumental music in our schools.  Please feel free to call should you have any questions or concerns.
