The Life of Gay Kolb

• Services for Gay Kolb, 83, of Groton will be 2 p.m., Sunday, March 9 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ferney.  The Rev. Lloyd Redhage will officiate.  Burial will follow at a later date in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen.
• Visitation will be held at Paetznick-Garness Funeral Home on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m.
• Gay died March 3, 2014 at her residence.
• Gay Eleanor was born on June 23, 1930 in Bristol to Herman and Ingeborg (Hustel) Wahl.  She attended country school and graduated from Groton High School.  On September 7, 1947, she was united in marriage with Julius Kolb

in Aberdeen.  Together they made their home south of Groton.  Gay and Julius farmed together for many years and she later cooked at the Conde and Groton Schools. 
• In earlier years, Gay enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling.  She liked to cook, sew and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
• Celebrating her life is her husband, Julius of Groton, her children, David (Beth) Kolb of Aberdeen; Julie Thomas of Watertown, Randy (Brenda) Kolb of Watertown, her grandchildren: Kim (Gary) Langerock, Teresa (Don) Rowland, Jackie Thomas, Jason Kolb, Justin (Candice) Thomas, Jared (Katie ) Kolb, Brooke Kolb, Brandon Kolb and great-grandchildren: Jessica Claussen (finance' Sheldon Foster), Tyler Rowland, Zackery Weber, Kennedy Thomas and Ivy Thomas.  She is also survived by her brother, Herman (Darlene) Wahl of Rapid City and sister, Beverly (Phillip) Wochnick of AshFork, Arizona. 
• Preceding her in death were her parents, and her siblings, Durwood, Irene, Iris, Fern and Jean.
• Casketbearers will be Jason Kolb, Jared Kolb, Brandon Kolb, Justin Thomas, Tyler Rowland and Brooke Kolb.
