Reilly Ell scores 1,000 high school career point at Britton

• Reilly Ell scored his 1,000th career point Friday in in boys basketball action at Britton. He scored 22 points to help lift the Tigers to a 78-39 Northeast Conference win.
• Groton led at the quarterstops at 23-10, 42-17 and 59-27.
• Mason Madsen had a double feature night with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Wyatt Lone had 12 points while Kyler Ell had nine, Kasey Kurtz eight, Spencer Knecht six, Lucas Sternhagen five, Chance Strom three and Sean Schuring two.

land with 10 points followed by Eric Wegleitner with eight, Tanner Roehr and Cully Olson each had six, Tanner Heitmann had five and Jadrian Guy and AJ Anderson each had two points.
• Groton made 55 percent of its field goals while Britton-Hecla made 25 percent. The Tigers had more rebounds, 34-29. Groton had many more assists than Britton, 15-5, with Kurtz having four. Groton had six turnovers with only one being a stolen ball. Britton-Hecla had 16 turnovers with Groton stealing the ball 10 times with Madsen having four. Wyatt Lone had all three of Groton's blocks.
• Groton made a perfect 12 of 12 in free throws off of Britton's 15 team fouls. Britton-Hecla made eight of nine free throws off of Groton's 14 team fouls.
• Groton won the junior varsity game, 43-32. Lucas Sternhagen and Kyler Ell each had 14 points followed by Bennett Shabazz with seven and having two each were Sean Schuring, Wyatt Larson, Adam Herman and Matt Knecht.
