• There was a sense of desperation by Hamlin in the fourth quarter as the Chargers picked up the pace and became more aggressive at hoop. With 2:16 left in the game, Hamlin had cut the lead to six, 42-36. "It looked like we were a little tired in the fourth quarter," Wanner said. "We panicked and we were trying not to lose. I called time out and told the girls, 'Listen, A lot of you girls have been around for a long time. You just need to calm down and relax.'"
• Groton made three of six free throws in about a minute spell and with 33 seconds left, Kennedy Noem hit a three-pointer to make it a four-point game, 45-41. Groton made one of two free throws with 25 seconds left and Alicia West hit a three-pointer with 10 seconds left to make it a two-point game, 46-44. Sippel was fouled with five seconds left, but this time, she made both free throws to put the game out of reach, 48-44.
