Lady Tigers now just 1 game away from NEC Title

• Hamlin found itself flat-footed and quickly found out that the Northeast Conference title was slipping out of its hands and into the hands of the Groton Area Tigers. It was midway in the first quarter before the Lady Chargers managed to make a field goal. The Lady Tigers were quick and aggressive on the boards and by the end of the first quarter, Groton had taken a 15-8 lead.

• Camille Sippel and Carly Wheeting were the forces behind all of the scoring for Groton in the second period as Groton upped its lead to 14 at half time, 29-15.
• The Lady Tigers upped its lead to 16 in the third quarter, 34-18, and lead by 12 at the end of the break, 38-26.
• "They (Hamlin) matched up well with us," Wanner said. "They're quick and they will get after you. They were 11-5 coming into this game and they've had only one bad loss. The other four losses were by four points or less."
