SD Air National Guard members go to Ariz. to train

• SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Members of the state's Air National Guard have recently completed two weeks of mandatory readiness training in Arizona that would be nearly impossible to accomplish under South Dakota's harsh weather conditions.
• Officials say about 150 Guard members traveled to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, located in Tucson. They say most of those traveling are not full-time members of the Guard. Instead, they have primary civilian jobs as doctors, lawyers and bankers among others.
• Officials say the Guard allows members in northern states to travel to Arizona to complete drills that snow or other weather conditions do not allow to train for.
• Pilots who attended this training were also able to fly at night for longer periods than usual.
