5,774 bridges in the state, 3,725 (65%) are maintained by the counties and 1,796 (31%) are maintained by the state.  There are thousands of bridges desperately in need of repair, and this is one problem we just can't keep ignoring or hoping that  future legislators will fix. Updates will follow as it goes through the appropriation process.
• I presented HB 1260 in Judiciary Committee on Feb. 12^th.  This would have extended from 2 days to 5 days the time in which a grain seller could recall his intent to sell grain by written contract.  It's my belief that the grain should certainly be under the seller's control until payment is made in full.   Extending the time period, like most other states in our area have done, would protect farmers.  There are states around us which actually have a 10 day period in which a grain seller can recall his
