Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford took charge of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan. A stampede killed 37 people during a Hindu festival in northern India. At the Grammy Awards, Fun. won song of the year for "We Are Young"; Gotye's massive and oddball pop hit "Somebody I Used to Know" picked up record of the year.
