6 Red Cloud students earn Horatio Alger awards

• PINE RIDGE, S.D. (AP) -- Six students from Red Cloud Indian School on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation have been awarded the Horatio Alger Scholarship.
• The school says that's the most the school has had in a single year.
• The scholarship supports young people who have overcome challenges in their lives in order to pursue higher education.

French theater group to perform in Rapid City

• RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) -- A French theater group will perform Tuesday at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
• The Rapid City school has partnered with Make Theatre Company to bring the performance troupe Macadames to campus for the 7 p.m. show in the Surbeck Center Ballroom.
• Faculty, staff and students are invited to bring their families to the free performance.
• Macadames is a Paris-based physical theater group traveling throughout the United States. The group uses a variety of techniques to tell a story, including mime, clowning, acrobatics, music and dance.
• The group's latest production tells the story of two people who fall in love without ever speaking a single word to one another.
