A system will move across the region today bringing warm temperatures into the area. There is a chance for rain and snow east of the James River valley this afternoon and rain over the western parts of the region. Later tonight behind this storm system, arctic air will slide southwest across a good portion of the region with rain changing over to all snow. Gusty northerly winds will combine with the falling snow to result in blowing and drifting snow with reduced visibility.
