• Groton's girls basketball team went to Webster Tuesday night and came home with a 45-40 win over the Bearcats.
• Courtney Kurtz led the Tigers with 15 points followed by Camille Sippel with 13, Ashley Gibbs and Carly Wheeting each had six, Audrey Wanner three and Kylie Hawkins added two.
• Webster was led by Lindsey Vogel with 16 points.
• Groton led at the quarterstops at 10-8 , 20-18 and 35-33.
• Groton made 12 of 33 field goals, 15 of 21 free throws, had 25 rebounds with Wheeting having six and Sippel five, nine steals with Kurtz and Gibbs each having three, nine assists with Kurtz having four, and Groton had seven turnovers and 14 fouls with Wheeting fouling out.
• Webster won the junior varsity game, 36-26. Maryn Howard and Nicole Fey each had six points, Audrey Wanner had five, Katie Koehler four, Tori Bjerke three and Ashley Gibbs had two points.
