• Groton's wrestling team went to Miller yesterday and had two wrestlers in the championship match. In the words of Chanise Pray on her Facebook Page, "I just want to take a moment and give a huge "shout out!!!" to the Groton Wrestling Team who took 9th at the Miller tourney!!! I know some of you may be thinking "9th? Thats nothing to be all that proud of." Let me explain... we are competing with only five boys and there were 15 teams total!!! I can honestly say in the 11 years we have been on the mat with trevor, I have never left a tourney thinking "wow, we experienced EVERY possible emotion today...our boys absolute…"
• Kelby Hawkins lost his first match of the year in the championship match, losing to Oliver Aesoph of Faulkton, 6-5. Aesoph scored a two-point reversal in the third quarter to pull out the win. Jeric Albrecht also placed second as he was pinned by Jakob Weisbrod, Clark-Willow Lake in 3:59.  Albrecht was leading at the time of the pin, 7-6.
• Kelby Hawkins, 120, pinned Carter Canham, Miller/Highmore-Harrold, 1:08; he pinned Dawson, Petrik, WAG, 2:47; decisioned Leo Hopkins, LA, 8-4; and in the championship match, he was decisioned by Oliver Aesoph, Faulkton, 6-5.
• Jeric Albrecht, 145, pinned EJ Leetch, 1:35; he pinned Brandon Warnke, 3:25; he decisioned Nick Dion, Wag, 8-6; and in the championship match, he was pinned by Jakob Weisbrod, CWL.
• Parker Kroll, 152, pinned Wesley Yortz, Marion-Freeman, 3:58; was pinned by Devon Gnat, MHH, 1:15; and he was decisioned by Trinity Brunsen, WSW, 8-5 (Brunsen scored an escape and a two-point take-down in the third period).
• Trevor Pray, 106, was pinned by Paul Lauck, MCM, 2:23; pinned Daymon Steuck, Ipswich, 2:43; and he was decisioned by Benjamin Soukup, Wag, 6-5 (Pray scored a two-point take-down and a two-point near fall in the third quarter).
• Brandyn Anderson was pinned by Dawain Kerner, BG, 0:59; he scored a major decision over Cain Rotert, MCM, 13-3; and he was pinned by Ray Edgar, Faulkton, 3:06.
