Low pressure will move southeast across the Dakotas and into southern Minnesota this afternoon and through the overnight hours. This system will spread snow across eastern portions of the forecast area, where accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are expected, mainly east of Aberdeen. Mixed precipitation is also possible from central South Dakota into the James Valley this afternoon through the evening. Strong winds will spread from west to east across South Dakota this afternoon through the overnight hours. Over eastern portions of the forecast area, the strong winds tonight will create areas of blowing snow with reduced visibility.
